BS 2005 Step Forward

BS 2005 Ltd, which is based in Lye, West Midlands is aiming its innovative range of equipment at any workplace where high standards of sanitation and cleanliness are required.

The machines allow employees and visitors to rapidly apply shoes covers without having to bend down and are already proving successful in environments such as hospitals, laboratories, food and pharmaceutical processing facilities. Potentially the product has a much wider range of market applications including the engineering and petrochemical industries, and even show homes. In fact, the BS range of equipment is suitable for any situation where the spread of dirt or contamination needs to be minimised.

The business is the brainchild of Managing Director Dean Banner, who first saw the product demonstrated on a children’s television programme.

“Having worked extensively in the offshore industry where cleanliness and health and safety are paramount, I immediately saw the advantages of an automatic shoe dispenser and recognised that it could possibly benefit a large number of diverse industries” said Mr Banner.

“Traditionally, putting on shoe covers has been an awkward and potentially hazardous activity. This product is designed to improve efficiency by applying each cover in seconds, and increase hygiene levels by removing the need for users to place their hands near their footwear. It also reduces the risk of back strain and injury caused whilst attempting to fit the plastic covers manually”.

BS 2005 Ltd, which is now the sole UK distributor for the range, has a series of machines from small, mechanical devices to larger, fully automatic units.
